Milestone Returns
Great news comic fans – Milestone Comics have returned!
Released on May 25th 2021, Milestone Returns #0: Infinite Edition saw the return of fan favorite characters such as Static, Icon and Rocket, and Hardware to the comic shelves. This release has been followed up with not one, not two, but THREE new 6-issue limited series featuring familiar and new talent to the Milestone Universe. Each issue is available in both print and digital versions.
Milestone Series
Static: Season One, written by Vita Ayala, with layouts by CHRISCROSS, finishes by Nikolas Draper-Ivey with covers by Khary Randolph.
Icon and Rocket: Season One, co-written by Reggie Hudlin and Leon Chills, with art by Doug Braithwaite and covers by Taurin Clarke.
Hardware: Season One, written by Brandon Thomas, with art by Denys Cowan and Bill Sienkiewicz with covers by Mateus Mahanini.
Returning Voices
Denys Cowan, one of the founders of Milestone, returns to pencil Hardware: Season One. Cowan provided his talents to the original 1993 series.
Christopher “ChrisCross” Williams, artist on Static: Season One, is a familiar name to Milestone fans, having broken into comics during the original Blood Syndicate run.
First-Timers
The return of Milestone wouldn’t be complete without new faces, both to the imprint and to comics as a whole.
Comic veteran Reginald Hudlin (whose Black Panther work will be familiar to Marvel fans) serves as co-writer on Icon and Rocket: Season One with newcomer Leon Chills (Chills first work in comics). Artist Doug Braithwaite will be bringing his decades of experience as Icon and Rocket’s penciller.
Writer Brandon Thomas joins the art team of Cowan and Bill Sienkiewicz on Hardware. Thomas is best known for his creator-owned works – Horizon, Noble, and Excellence.
Static: Season One will see several Milestone newcomers. Writer Vita Ayala has already made their mark working for both DC and Marvel Comics. Artist ChrisCross is joined by Nikolas Draper-Ivey, who’s first work for DC Comics was in Milestone Returns #0.
